Won't you Love this Lonesome Son?

In a normal day, he only stops smiling to kiss you ;)

Lonesome came to Athens late Tuesday night amid the thunderstorms.  He was neutered and had his teeth cleaned on Monday, but then unexpectedly also had to have a toenail removed all the way to the base, so he ended up in a soft cast.  His coat is very red brindle, especially red at the shoulders, and he is a tall narrow handsome boy.  He was very overstimulated upon arriving home--he thought everything and everyone in the house was super new and cool and couldn't stop investigating long enough to lay down.

In the first couple of days, Lonesome learned the stairs (despite the cast), met and respected both cats, and learned which food bowl was his.  He still thinks everything about a home is awesome; he is perpetually grinning and kisses people and the other dogs at every opportunity.  He never bothers his cast.  He does get some kibble on the floor while eating, but he cleans that up too ;)  He thinks affections is pretty cool and would like to lean (we don't allow leaning here, but he has tried).

Lonesome would probably do fine either as an additional dog (he has no semblance of alpha and mimics the other hounds here), or even as a lone dog since he loves the company of humans as much as dogs.  He learns very quickly--he was told only once not to sneak a bite of catfood when I have the laundry room open and now he just looks longingly at it.  He'll be an easy transition for whoever snags his lonesome heart!
